Saturday 9: Drift Away (RIP Dobie Gray)

1. Who or what bores you enough to mentally drift away?
In all fairness it doesn’t have to be boring, I tend to be in my own world any way! I can be distracted in any situation.

2. How many members of your family not living with you do you see on during the holidays?
In all fairness I have a large family, I spend Christmas with my mum, stepdad and younger sisters, see my older sister and her family at some point then my dad and every one that lives with him and this year my boyfriend’s family too!

3. When spending time with family, how long after you arrive do you begin to feel "antsy" about being there too long?
Never : ) I tend to always feel welcome, especially with my sister and her family.

4. Does your family more generally get along at a holiday gathering or are there generally arguments?
Depends which side of my family, my dad’s family (mainly my gran) always used to seem to get into arguments but I’ve always lived with my mum and siblings so we all get along fine and have a very merry Christmas.

5. Are you ever embarrassed by your family around friends?
Doesn’t that come with the family like a package deal? Haha! My family do joke around but never to embarrassing lengths.

6. Of the celebrities that died in 2011, who will you miss the most?
I think Amy Winehouse was definitely too young and it was very unfortunate. She was a really good singer.

7. When you watch a movie in a movie theater, do you like the theater filled to capacity, halfway full, or nearly empty? Does your answer change depending on the type of movie you're seeing or do you feel the same way regardless of the movie or genre?
Hmm…nearly empty, that way you don’t have to be sat next to some randomer and make it known you can’t sit still for 2 hours. Plus you can have a giggle about people in the film and plot lines.

8. What’s one really cool/useful/nice thing you purchased for yourself this year?
I brought a skeleton onesy in primark! Yeah it’s meant to be for blokes but I love it.

9. Are you in the holiday spirit yet?
I've bought Christmas presents…isn’t that enough?

dear so and so... vicious dogs and amazing people

Dear man with the vicious dog,
I was having a lovely day walking in the morning sunshine despite the cold weather and my dog was being an angel of the lead, even resisting the chase of the squirrel that has it in for him (there’s been multiple incidents with him throwing acorns at me and Bruno-I’m sure it’s the same one each time!) and it was a nice peaceful day. Then you appeared with your dog who is clearly violent. Bruno’s always up for having a new friend and I don’t see how him putting his ears up and wagging a tail is a threat, therefore your dog had no reason to run and launch itself at my dog. Maybe the first time they separated you should of put your dog on a lead but-no-no-once again when we were about half a football pitch away the dog ran at us, nearly bit me and continued to growl at me causing me dog-understandably to put his head to use and push your dog away from me and for once barked and growled stood between myself and your creature. You could of at least helped me pull your dog off of my boxer instead of stand there staring. PUT YOUR DOG ON A LEAD!!

From the blonde girl with the boxer.

Dear inappropriate man who I was serving,
There is no need for a comment like that thank you very much! Women aren’t objects, and you may of thought it was flattery-it wasn’t-stop it. Plus your easily 30 years older than me.

From the lady behind the counter.

To my gorgeous nephew,
I can’t believe your nearly 2!! When did you get all grown up? You’ve always been a happy smiley little lad and your ever so affectionate and full of hugs and kisses, plus you never fail to put a smile on my face, love you millions mister monkey!

Lots of love, Aunty Ty

To my ever so brilliant friends that are always there for me,
No matter what I need your always there, whether it’s to chat about random things that make us laugh or have a deep conversation you are always there for me. So I thought I’d say thank you, I know I can be a pain sometimes but I promise I will always be here for you too.

Love from, me!!!

Dear So and So...

Saturday 9!

1. “Everybody lies. But it's alright because nobody listens.” is one of Bud's Law's. What do you lie about?

I dont lie! ...or do I ;) I only lie to protect people when its necessary-plus I'm an awful liar!

2. When you purchase a DVD, what besides the the movie itself, what do you enjoy the most? Is it the director's commentary, the deleted scenes, the bloopers or the behind-the-scenes documentary?

Bloopers! Pirates of the Carribean ones are extremely funny.

3. What would you most like to accomplish before the year is over?

Hmm...winning the lottery? Does that count? If we're going to more rational goals I will say being in a college course that interests me :)

4. What is your current percentage of online shopping? Is it going to be more this year than last?

I can only just figure out how to do it! Technology and I don't get along to well-so yes more than last year...which was nothing.

5. What's left to do at your place (or where you are going)? Is the tree up? ...or maybe you're just happy you
found that fave Christmas coffee mug and are calling that good?

The house looks pretty Christmas-y however I had nothing to do with it-I'm just glad I've done the shopping!

6. If you could get worry free, cost free plastic surgery, would you? If yes, where?

Umm...not sure...I wouldnt get anything drastic-my body makes me-me! At most I would get rid of some scars that have appeared over the years but I still want to be me.

7. Do you think the child you were growing up, would like the adult you've become?

I dont think much has changed. I have the exact same personality, although the child I was wouldn't be impressed that I'm still not a vampire and haven't become a skilled ninja and an amazing guitarist...sorry young me.

8. What will you miss about 2011?

Not alot...this years kind of passed on by without doing much...I guess I just need to achieve more.

9. What is something you'd love to see invented?

The money tree...why hasn't anyone tried this yet?

Christmas and my life in the past cold month!

I apologise for it being so long since I’ve blogged! Once you’re busy you don’t realise how long it’s really been! However I’ve actually achieved a lot this past month, I've got nearly all of my Christmas presents bought-thank goodness-seems normally I'm one of those manic Xmas buyers fighting their way through the crowd panicking and grabbing as much as I can before someone else gets there! However this year I have all but one present ready. Believe it or not I'm actually looking forward to putting up my very small Christmas tree in my room and getting out my tinsel and beads,  yes my tree may be black and the tinsel is black and pink but it’s all still festive and sparkly! And I love Christmas tree decorations so decorating my miniature tree still gets exciting for me; although I am upset that my newer decoration-a small child fairy has been in the wars with two excitable young ladies who apparently like knocking things off shelves by slamming doors, so poor miss fairy’s missing half of her hair do!

I'm also very excited about the idea of starting a writing course, I've found one that will be brilliant but I'm still trying to find the courage to go through with it, it’s only a short evening course but it gives me a new experience with something I'm really interested in. I only have a little while left to decide so I better make a decision soon, but I think 6th form put me off of the whole idea of going back to college.

I hope you are all found well this December, and don’t have the dreaded cold that’s lingering about in the cold winter ready to pounce on even the most wrapped up people! It may be cold but don’t you love the feeling of getting inside in the warm and snuggling up with a book and maybe a hot drink! And maybe if you’re feeling really festive you can check out these cutie elves that are staying with their new host family for Xmas, and hear of all their tales you can find them on twitter @jingletoeselves where you can meet Elfred and Ella Jingletoes!

Happy December!

Reasons to be cheerful...rather geeky reasons may i add!

ky reasons may i
         1)     I had a facebook invite sent to me yesterday for a house of night special announcement interview, and found myself so excited I was on the site unmoving from my computer for the entire 5 hours I had to wait chatting to other HoN fans, despite the fact it wouldn’t start till 11:30pm in England! For those of you who don’t know about ‘House of Night’ it’s a series of young adult books written by P.C and Kristin Cast about vampires living known in today society and learning of the evil which lives amongst them unknown to the vampyre high council. These books follow the life of Zoey who is of Cherokee origins as she finds her goddess Nyx who blesses her on the first day of being marked. Anyway, I ‘attended’ the announcement and learnt that my favourite series has been given a multi-film deal! I am so excited-however worried that it will be ruined-but I keep high hopes that it will be kept true to the books as they are PERFECT as they are.

          2)      As sad as it may be I got really excited about being mentioned on Kerrang! Radio. I know people are mentioned each and every day but you never really think about it being you until it happens. Eek! Matt stocks who was DJ-ing on Kerrang asked what peoples first gig was and I answered online with ‘bowling for soup’ and that I love their cheesiness and humour-my song was played and I was mentioned-im easily pleased! I also had a mini mention today when referring to Bill Baileys song as “genius” I do love my music!

         3)      I had a lovely time celebrating with the Boyf last week and had a lovely day out to the cinema and out for a bite to eat. We watched Jonny English…I hate to admit I was laughing hysterically! It was really nice to do something different for a change and he planned out a brilliant day, and I do feel sorry for him having to be dragged into a book shop whilst I “eek”ed and yelped with excitement…that’s probably why he left me alone and went to the other side of the shop… haha!

Reasons to be Cheerful at Mummy from the Heart

Sunday 30 October 2011

Why not end a lovely weekend by putting on the radio and reading!

I reckon that’s the best way to do it! Since 11ish I’ve been led out on my bed in comfy lounging clothes (without a mask of eyeliner believe it or not!) with my laptop arms distance away from me with the social networking sites watching my every move! I started off by reading “Destined” by P.C and Kristin Cast which is the 9th book in the "House of Night series" and was released in the UK on the 25th which my gorgeous boyfriend bought me on our one year celebration! The books brill so far, picks the story up exactly where it left off; it’s just unfortunate I had to wait so long for its arrival.

Then I really felt like being transported to a different world by the power of Piara Strainge’s amazing book “Little child” of which has managed to draw me in from the first page. The book was recommended to me and was described as “unputdownable” which is a perfect way to describe the book. I recently got out of the habit of carrying a book everywhere with me since someone said “do you think I’m that boring you must bring a book with you?” they were joking…I think! But whenever I had a spare moment I never had a book at hand, but now I’m back in to the habit carrying this book around with me so the second I have a spare moment I can continue reading. It immediately dives into the action and drip feeds you information-I already have recommended it and I haven’t even finished it yet, a must read!

With Kerrang radio running along with nice upbeat music in the background I’m having a lovely relaxing day-despite the fact there is children running around rioting upstairs. I also had a spare moment to finish decorating for Halloween; cobwebs and tarantulas at the door, spooky sweet holder (grabbing skeleton hand included!) and my pumpkins out front. Gotta love Sundays!

A rather chilled out

Saturday 9! Mr. Roboto

1. Do you enjoy holidays like Halloween or is your approach more robotic?
I do love the holidays! Halloween being my favourite! I love dressing up as I have many costumes (witch, zombie, Freddy Kreuger, Batwoman, corpse, vampire, you name ‘em!) and it’s an excuse to act like a child and eat lots of treats and scare yourself!  And I love decorating all spooky and making scary looking food!

2. Have you ever been to a haunted house?
Hmm…well there’s the Disney version of the haunted house which I’ve been in on numerous occasions1 but if we are discussing “actually” haunted houses then I shall say maybe! When I was young I was sharing a room with my younger cousin at my granddads house, which is older than him and belonged to his parents before he inherited it. One of the many nights I had spent there my cousin woke up screaming and panicking and he was certain he’d seen a ghost right next to the bed. The next morning we told our granddad and my cousin explained what he looked like and granddad looked shocked and told us he’d seen the ghostly figure before around but thought it was in his head and told us it was his dad. To this day I wonder whether or not he was just winding us up or not, but my cousin seemed positive of what he had seen!

3. What are you doing for Halloween this year?
I am going to sound extremely boring! But I was hoping to have a Halloween party but no ones ever free at the same time! Unfortunately I’m doing my first shift at work but I might make up for it next year by having a massive haunted party-decorations and everything!

4. What was your lamest Halloween costume ever?
Probably one of the first times when I went trick or treating which was when I was 7 or 8. I dressed in black (what I normally do anyway!) put in fake fangs and a witch hat and said “I’m a witch vampire!” I was just a 7 year old with little interest in it all!

5. Is handing out candy fun for you, or more of a nightmare?
I’m fine when it’s the little kids but when I open the door and the people are taller than me I worry. First of all-who on earths behind those masks? Do I know you? Throw the candy and run!! Even worse when you’re out of candy!

6. Do you buy trick-or-treat candy and end up eating it yourself?
You need to learn to buy too much! Then it’s all yours! Yummy!

7. Did you carve any pumpkins this year?
I did indeed! All nightmare before Christmas, took me AGES!

8. What was your favourite costume as a child?
I had this really cool looking cape thing which was black netting and looked like spider webs and a witches dress that my mum bought me which looked all Victorian but I made it into a vampire looking costume which was when I began to LOVE vampires.

9. What is your biggest pet peeve about trick-or-treaters?
If your old enough to have a job-go buy your own candy rather than stealing mine! You have no need to go trick or treating and eating sweets which the little kids have to scavenge after you’ve all raided the streets before going to your late night party. Plus if the lights are off it means we don’t want to give you/don’t have sweets!

Thanks for reading! Blackbutterfly
