Hello fellow book worms! I thought as it’s the first week it would be a great time to start a weekly book recommendation. This week I have two book recommendations for you and I hope you enjoy them as much as I have!
Firstly "Marked" by P.C and Kristin Cast is on the list of must reads if you enjoy the dark romance genre, this book takes the twilight books and twists them into a darker form of mythology. This first opening book to the house of night series introduces Zoey Redbird who is marked by a vampyre Tracker which throws her from her almost comfortable life into the unknown. In a world where vampyres are walking known among us only her grandmothers Cherokee origins appear to accept her whilst her stepdad whom is a religious man stands against the creatures of the night. But it is clear instantly after being marked Zoey isn’t like the others and must join the battle either under the watchful eye of the goddess Nyx or against her. Can she balance dark and light? This series is highly addictive and pagan-wiccan fuelled with darker forces than imaginable.
Secondly I would like to introduce "The outcast" by Sadie Jones. A beautiful but treacherous book about a 19 year old boy called Lewis who must return home and face the past. As a child Lewis was always close to his mother, but after a tragic accident both him and his father were overcome with grief. Due to Lewis’s father being at war for most of Lewis’s childhood it becomes difficult for a relationship to blossom causing Lewis to feel the need to deal with his grief alone. Set after the Second World War, a brilliant read from start to finish with many twists and turns and a book that could be read over and over again.
